Hello Sac Valley Community,
We are pleased to announce that, after a 2-year hiatus, we will once again be teaching the 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion Course. We will be teaching online via Zoom, so please feel free to send to colleagues, friends, family who live at a distance and might benefit. California residency is not required since we lead it as a class, not as group therapy.
The course is open to therapists and the general public. We offer 24 CEs for therapists and 28 CEs for nurses through our collaboration with UCSD Center for Mindfulness. This program was created by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer and has significant empirical support across many wellness domains (including caregiver burnout).
Luana and I have been co-teaching the class for 6+ years and we have received very positive feedback about the benefits our students are experiencing: https://www.threeriversmindfulness.com/testimonials/
We feel these practices are best taught when they’re embodied and we tend to teach from the inside out. I can share with you that as someone with a long history of anxiety, overwhelm, and shame, self-compassion has helped me shore up the part of myself that is bigger than whatever I might be feeling in the moment, and it has warmed and softened the tone of my inner world. I can feel myself exhale as I type that. Such a profound thing that tonal shift.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or to Luana (luana@threeriversmindfulness.com) if you have any questions.
