Overview:
Learning to live a life with limited alcohol consumption is a learning process. It’s not just about removing alcohol; it’s about replacing it.
Believe it or not, every action we take, no matter how illogical it may seem, has a positive intention behind it. The same is true for drinking alcohol. You have been reaching for alcohol because it solves an issue or serves a purpose in your life. It has been helping you to get from points A to points B—with point A being stressed and point B feeling relaxed; with point A being boredom and point B relief of boredom; or point A being slightly anxious and point B feeling more at ease.
If you have been a regular drinker for a while, chances are that alcohol has become an intertwined part of your life and your go-to strategy to get from many points A to points B. Therefore, to remove or dramatically reduce your alcohol consumption, you need to learn to find alternative ways to get you from points A to points B.
That’s what these Skill Workshops are about; together, we will explore new ways to help you relax, have fun, grow confidence, and so much more. So that you can learn, practice, and eventually gain mastery of new ways to achieve the purpose that alcohol once helped you fulfill, and become confident in handling whatever comes your way without the "help" of alcohol.
Join us for this month's Skill Workshops and learn how to replace the alcohol-fueled anxiety cycle with a confidence-competence loop.
These virtual groups are ideal for folks looking for a non-12-step approach to support their recovery and can complement existing therapy work. I included an overview of the membership in the attachment for your reference and easy sharing.
