David is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In 2018 he completed his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) examining explanatory factors associated with advanced brief strategic paradoxical intervention. For four years, he managed and trained a team of after-hours mental health workers at two emergency departments within Placer County for Sierra Mental Wellness Group while conducting research and managing his part-time private practice. In 2019, he trained a predecessor at Sierra before transitioning to full-time private practice. David is a nationally certified trainer in Assessing and Managing Suicidal Risk (AMSR), an evidence-based protocol for assessing suicidal risk developed by The Suicide Prevention Resource Center and The American Association of Suicidology. At his private practice, he specializes in anxiety-related disorders, couple and family-based treatments, men’s issues, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. David is a third-generation native of California living in El Dorado Hills with his wife, a Clinical Psychologist, newborn son, and two-year-old daughter. He enjoys paddle boarding; traveling; and studying exotic animals within safe, humane settings. He have closely interacted with tigers, baby bears, bobcats, a tribe of long-tailed macaque monkeys, elephants, and sloths. Long walks on the beach are great, but you are more likely to find him kayaking in Tahoe or observing young chimpanzees in their naturalistic habitat.
